چکیده
Introduction Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by impairments in social communication and interaction; an unusually intense, circumscribed interest or restricted, repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behaviour, interests and activities (ICD-10). However the underlying neuropathology of Autism remains controversial. Here we present evidence of bilateral medial temporal lobe abnormalities in a group of children with Autism.

The prenatal period is a critical time for neurodevelopment and is thus a period of vulnerability during which a range of exposures have been found to exert long-term changes on brain development and behavior with implications for physical and psychiatric health. During fetal life, neurons proliferate, migrate and form connections, providing the structure of the developing brain. Neurons reach ...

Abstract Introduction: Arachnoid cysts are developmental cystic lesions which may be found as an incidental finding on neuroimaging or present with symptoms of headache, seizure and neurologic deficit. Presentation with seizure is more common with larger sizes and temporal location. Presentation with TLE is rare, and fenestration of cysts had variable results for seizure control. Here in, we r...

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is defined by atypicalities in domains that are posited to rely on implicit learning processes such as social communication, language, and motor behavior. The authors examined 2 forms of implicit learning in 14 children with high-functioning ASD (10 of whom were diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome) and 14 control children, learning of spatial context known to be me...

متن کاملRegional Cerebral Glucose Metabolism and its Association with Phenotype and Cognitive Functioning in Patients with Autism
INTRODUCTION In spite of three decades of neuroimaging, we are unable to find consistent and coherent anatomical or pathophysiological basis for autism as changes are subtle and there are no studies from India. AIM To study the regional cerebral glucose metabolism in children with autism using positron emission tomography (PET) scan and to study the behavior and cognitive functioning among th...
